Envoy condemns killing of Iraqi politicianListen /
The head of the UN mission in Iraq has strongly condemned the killing of a parliamentarian on Tuesday.
'Ifan Al-Issawi died in a terrorist attack which happened during a demonstration in the city of Fallujah.
Several other people were killed or injured in the suicide bombing, according to news reports.
In a statement, UN envoy Martin Kobler said it was vital to allow peaceful demonstrations to take place and to protect protestors from terrorist infiltrations.
He called on all political forces to foil any attempt at instigating strife and to demonstrate utmost restraint.
