Call for international inquiry into human rights abuses in North Korea
Listen /The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has called for an international inquiry into the human rights abuses in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Navi Pillay recently met two survivors of the country's complex network of political prison camps which are believed to house 200,000 or more people. She says, "Their personal stories were extremely harrowing".
In this interview by UN Radio's Andrew Martin from Geneva, Rupert Colville, the UN human rights spokesperson says the entire country is affected by these human rights violations, where the rule of law just doesn't function, where people can be executed for next to nothing at all and where people are tortured.
