The Joint Special Representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi says he's not too sure there's a solution to the Syrian crisis around the corner.

He was at the time responding to reporters' questions after meeting in Geneva Friday with representatives of the United States and Russian Federation.

”  If you are asking me if there's a solution around the corner, am not sure that is the case. What I am certain of is that there is an absolute necessity for people to continue to work for a peaceful solution and that it is the wider international community, especially members of the Security Council that can really create the opening the is necessary to start effectively solving the problem.

Mr. Brahimi adds that he plans to brief the UN Security Council later this month on his efforts including consultation he has had with Syrian parties in Damascus and else where.
