Invest in farmers to end poverty and hunger: FAO

The more than one billion farmers worldwide should be at the centre of investments in the agricultural sector, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

In its flagship annual report, known as The State of Food and Agriculture, FAO says investing in agriculture is one of the most effective ways to reduce hunger and poverty while protecting the environment.
