Young Environmental Envoys

More than 40 students from developing countries recently took part in a week-long study tour of Germany where they learned first-hand about best environmental practices.

The students, who range from 16 to 25 years old, were chosen as this year's participants in the Young Environmental Envoy Programme run by the pharmaceutical company, Bayer in partnership with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

The programme is just one of the company's initiatives to promote science education and improve knowledge about the environment.

UNEP's Brian Coll spoke to three of the Young Environmental Envoys:  Gaurav Maheshwari from India, Chee Zhun Yu from Singapore and Phethang Mabeba from South Africa, who talk about the projects which landed them a spot on the programme and what they learned on the trip.
