Secretary-General briefs Security Council on the situation in the Middle East including the Palestinian question
The UN Secretary-General has warmly welcomed the cease-fire between Hamas and Israel following a week of violence that has killed more than 140 people.
Addressing the Security Council on Wednesday, Ban Ki-moon commended the parties, calling the truce a "huge relief"—not only for people in Gaza and Israel, but also the international community.
