Political solution to Syrian crisis stressed in General AssemblyListen /
The importance of finding a political solution to the ongoing crisis in Syria came up in the General Assembly on Friday.
The Assembly was briefed on the situation in the Middle Eastern country by Lakhdar Brahimi the Joint Special Representative of the United Nations and Arab League for Syria.
Mr. Brahimi warned that Syria risks becoming a failed state unless there is a political process that leads to the creation of a new Syria that satisfies the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people.
