"The forum is in response to the Secretary-General's call for global consultations to try and frame a post 2015 development agenda. The SG appointed a high-level panel to lead the process and make recommendations to him by next year. This high level panel is co-led by the President of Liberia, the Prime Minister of the UK and the President of Indonesia. So several themes, about twelve themes have been part of this discussion and so one of the themes is the whole question of peace and security."
According to UN agencies, the global burden of disasters and armed violence affect over 200 million people and results in more than half a million deaths each year around the world.
