140,000 displaced by fighting in Goma, DR Congo

Over 140,000 people have been displaced in and around the town of Goma in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo since the capture of the town by the M23 rebel movement. Thawing permafrost expected to cause significant additional global warming: UNEP

A new UN report warns that permafrost covering almost a quarter of the northern hemisphere could significantly amplify global warming should thawing accelerate as expected.
