WFP emergency food distribution operation in Madagascar

More than one-third of the population in Madagascar is undernourished and the World Food Programme (WFP) warns that the number could rise.

WFP is aiming to feed up to one million people in the country in 2013 but the agency is facing a serious funding shortfall which threatens its school feeding programmes and other initiatives.

To find out more, Patrick Maigua in Geneva sat down with WFP spokesperson Elizabeth Byers who describes the situation as "a silent crisis."
