The UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon and ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council met with the President of Lebanon, General Michel Sleiman on Monday.
Mr. Plumbly says he and the ambassadors of China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States requested the meeting to express their solidarity with Lebanon at this difficult time.
They underlined to the President their support for his leadership and the efforts he is currently undertaking in consultation with all Lebanese parties, Mr. Plumbly adds.
