The Grammy Award-winning songwriter performed at a UN Day concert on Wednesday evening.
Stevie Wonder, who is known for his activism in the United States and in the campaign against apartheid, is a United Nations Messenger of Peace with a focus on persons with disabilities.
"I haven't even touched one iota of what I want to do for and through the United Nations to help heal this world and help this world and the people on this planet heal themselves. I'm so excited to do. It's equal to my excitement that I feel when I come up with another melody or another lyric, or other different chords. It's joyful."
Stevie Wonder says that people must always remember that they have more similarities than differences.
