Africa Week focuses on importance of African development

Africa Week is being celebrated at the United Nations from the 15th to the 19th of October.

It is happening as NEPAD, the New Partnership for Africa's Development, marks its 10th anniversary.

NEPAD is a programme spearheaded by African leaders to promote political and social economic transformation on the continent.

Gerry Adams sat down with Dr. Ibrahim Mayaki of NEPAD to find out why Africa Week is so important.
