Africa gets pledges of support in General Assembly

The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday devoted a meeting to focusing on strengthening the United Nations engagement with the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD).
NEPAD is a programme of the African Union (AU) adopted by African leaders in 2001 to promote political and socio-economic transformation on the continent.
