Unemployment is higher for youth in Africa
Listen /
The situation of youth unemployment in Africa is more problematic than in many other parts of the world, according to an economist at the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Theodoor Sparreboom tells UN Radio's Patrick Maigua that it's partly because there are more young Africans looking for work.
Africa has a high population growth rate as well, and there are millions of young people looking for a job.
Mr. Sparreboom suggests there are opportunities in industry, services and the agriculture sector.
