Strong typhoon threatens Korean Peninsula
Listen /A powerful typhoon is threatening the Korean Peninsula, according to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Typhoon Sanba, with peak winds of 155 mhp, was reported to be heading towards Japan and South Korea on Friday.
Clare Nullis is WMO spokesperson in Geneva.
"There's a strong typhoon which is currently in the Pacific on the trajectory towards the Korean Peninsula. Our regional specialized meteorological centre in Tokyo, the Tokyo Typhoon Centre is monitoring its path. National authorities will be issuing public warnings in the course of the next few days. It does look to be a very strong typhoon and it's not particular good news for the Korean Peninsula." (Duration: 26")
