Nuclear-weapons-free Kazakhstan promotes ban on testing

Shortly afterward, in 1995, the country rid itself of all nuclear weapons.
The International Day against Nuclear Tests is observed on the 29th of August of each year to highlight efforts to end nuclear tests and achieve the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world.
Timur Zhantikin, Chairman of the country's Atomic Energy Committee, told me [Gerry Adams] that his country has always detested nuclear weapons.
