Mediation one of main concerns of outgoing General Assembly President

Ambassador Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, President of the sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly

Ambassador Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser of Qatar has had an eventful year as President of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly.

Among the challenges he faced were the transition of power in Libya, the lagging world economy and the on-going crisis in Syria.

Just before handing over the presidency to his successor, Ambassador Al-Nasser told Gerry Adams that the issue of mediation has been one of his main concerns.
