ILO Convention 189 seeks to extend rights to domestic workers

The Philippines was the second country to ratify ILO Convention No. 189 on Decent Work for Domestic Workers. Uruguay was the first country to do so in June of 2012.
Convention No. 189 lays down basic rights and principles for domestic workers and requires states to take a series of measures to make decent work a reality for domestic workers.
