Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is new UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador
Listen /Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS).
She will assist efforts to reduce the number of children born with HIV and to empower women affected by the virus.
"This particular cause, the particular agenda that UNAIDS has, when you have this programme of getting to zero by 2015 that's not very far away. And the passion was infectious, the conviction is strong and it had me believe. It converted me into an absolute believer." (Duration: 17″)
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a former Miss World, has starred in numerous films in various languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and English. Her Hollywood movies include 'The Pink Panther' and 'Bride & Prejudice.'
She is married to fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan.
