Syria's displaced need more help: UN Humanitarian Chief

UN Under-Secretary-General Valerie Amos meets with Dr. Abdulrahman Attar (R) President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent
Syria's displaced people need more help, said UN Humanitarian Affairs chief Valerie Amos on Wednesday as she continued her three-day visit to Syria and Lebanon.
Ms. Amos expressed her concern after meeting displaced people in the Zaheria district of the nation's capital, Damascus.
She said the people she had met needed clean water, sanitation, medical help and food.
They were frightened and had no home to return to, she added.
During her visit, Ms. Amos plans to discuss ways to increase humanitarian assistance for the Syrians affected by the ongoing conflict in Syria.
