UNMISS and the national Ministry of Interior signed a memorandum of understanding on the transformation of the SSNPS.

One of the challenges that the newly independent nation of South Sudan is facing is building an efficient police force.

To help achieve this goal, the UN Mission recently signed a memorandum of understanding on the transformation of the South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS).

The ceremony took place during the graduation of 70 officers who had taken part in a three-week senior leadership seminar and brigadiers' course.
