UN human rights council condemns Syrian violence
Listen /The ongoing violence in Syria has been officially condemned by the UN Human Rights Council.
The resolution was passed Friday, during the last day the 20th session of the Council in Geneva.
The resolution strongly condemns the widespread, systematic and gross human rights violations including extrajudicial killings and prosecution of protestors, human rights defenders and journalists.
The United States and Turkey which sponsored the resolution say it sends a strong message to Syria.
