Hunger crisis in the Sahel persists
Listen /The World food Programme, WFP, and its partners, are bringing food assistance to more than 10 million people in eight countries in the Sahel region of West Africa.
WFP says some progress has been made in providing assistance to over half of their targeted number between January and June of this year.
The agency plans to provide assistance to some 10 million people in the Sahel and has so far supported nearly 6 million people.
UN Radio's Mamadou Alpha DIALLO spoke to WFP's Elizabeth Byrs about her recent visit to the region.
