Global "war for talent" expected to escalate:ILO
As the world's population grows, so will the need for skills, says the International Labour Organization, the ILO.
Some countries face ageing societies, says the Organization. Others have burgeoning youth populations.
But as the pace of technological change and innovation grows, all countries will need to make education and training more responsive to a changing world.
Programmes, says the ILO, need to be closely linked to labour market requirements to ensure that young people have the skills they need to enter the marketplace – a crucial element at a time when 75 million young people are unemployed.
