Listen /UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan arrived in Tehran on Monday for talks with Iranian leaders.
Annan had earlier met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus to discuss a new approach to end the violence in the country.
"We agreed an approach which I will share with the armed opposition. I also stressed the importance of moving ahead with the political dialogue which the President accepts, and the other issue we discussed was the six-point plan."
In a statement, Annan described his discussion with President Assad as "very candid and constructive."
The Joint Special Envoy said he was reassured of the government's commitment to his six-point plan which should be implemented in what he called "a much better fashion than it has been so far."
