Tracking support for the Millennium Development Goals
Listen /There is now a new way to track progress made on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
At the United Nations Tuesday, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon launched the Integrated Implementation Framework or IIF, which is a UN initiative to record and monitor commitments made by the international community towards achieving the MDGs.
Mr. Ban called the IIF website a concrete global follow-up to the 2010 MDG Summit and the General Assembly mandate to report on progress in the implementation of the MDG's.
"The IIF website may be one small mouse click for a computer user – but it is a big leap in our efforts to enhance mutual accountability to achieve global development goals. The time is right. Member States have made numerous commitments to support the MDGs. Yet, delivery has not been satisfactory on all fronts."
