Special Envoy proposes establishing contact group for Syria

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has said there is a danger that the crisis in Syria can quickly go from a tipping point to a breaking point.

UN Special Envoy Kofi Annan, who for the past two months has been working on resolving the crisis., has proposed a plan which brings together members of the international community with ties on both sides to mediate a solution.
