Organized crime and illicit drugs are impeding development, says the head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
Yuri Fedotov told the General Assembly while launching the 2012 World Drug Report on Tuesday that drugs and crime represent a severe impediment to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, the MDGs.
