Actor Ed Norton defends the earth's biodiversity at Rio+20 conference
Listen /UN Goodwill Ambassador and actor Ed Norton is at the Rio+20 conference to draw attention to biodiversity issues which he says affect all aspects of life.
Mr. Norton has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) since 2010 and spent time in the field with scientists.
Florencia Soto Nino caught up with him at the conference, where he is helping the CBD to advance standards that protect ecosystems and natural resources.
Ed Norton says although understanding biodiversity could prove complex to understand, it touches people's lives in various ways: from access to fresh water to the use of plants to create pharmaceuticals.
