The international community will meet in Geneva on Saturday in efforts to resolve the ongoing violence in Syria.
Foreign Ministers from the five permanent member countries of the UN Security Council—China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States—as well as Arab League chief Nabil Elaraby, are among the participants in the Action Group for Syria.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is also attending and has expressed hope that the meeting will mark a "turning point" in a crisis that has raged for more than a year.
