Over the past weeks, elements of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) have been terrorizing people in the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The group, led by Joseph Kony, began operating in Uganda in the 1980s and has also been active in South Sudan. LRA actions have included killing, robbing, raping, kidnapping, recruiting child soldiers and forcing young girls into sexual slavery.

Derrick Mbatha spoke to Abou Moussa, head of the UN Office for Central Africa, about the African Union's efforts to stop the LRA.
