UN supports African Union effort to stop LRA

The SRSG and Head of UNOCA, Mr Abou Moussa, and the AU Special Envoy for the LRA issue, Mr Francisco Madeira, paid a visit to the UN Forces in Dungu, including the Moroccan contingent.
The group, led by Joseph Kony, began operating in Uganda in the 1980s and has also been active in South Sudan.
LRA actions have included killing, robbing, raping, kidnapping, recruiting child soldiers and forcing young girls into sexual slavery.
Derrick Mbatha spoke to Abou Moussa, head of the UN Office for Central Africa, about the activities of LRA and what is being done to combat it.
