UN receives highest honour from Timor-Leste
Listen /The United Nations on Friday received the highest honour of Timor-Leste from the country's outgoing president.
Nobel Peace Prize Laureate José Ramos-Horta thanked the United Nations on his last day as Timor's president at a medal ceremony held at the headquarters of the UN mission in the capital city of Dili.
Four UN officials accepted the honours on behalf of the organization, including Ameerah Haq, head of the mission in Timor-Leste.
"The fact that he has honoured the UN by bestowing these presidential medals and orders of solidarity speaks to the tremendous partnership that we have enjoyed with this country."
