Syria, conflict in Africa and terrorism to top Security Council discussions in May
Listen /As Azerbaijan takes over the Presidency of the Security Council, the top issues remain Syria, the Middle East and the ongoing conflicts in Africa according to the country's Ambassador.
Agshin Mehdiyev says his country will hold a special session on the prevention of international terrorism through cooperation and hopes Azerbaijan's President can chair that debate. He also says the situation in the Balkan's as well as conflict prevention will be part of Azerbaijan's priorities for May.
In addition, this month council members will visit West Africa and have been invited to a retreat by Turkey.
