Rural girls risk it all for a better life in Ghana's capital
Listen /Many young women who are looking for better opportunities in life have fled their homes in rural northern Ghana for the country's capital, Accra.
The UN Population Fund (UNFPA) says these young women, some just girls, are running from complicated or tragic family situations, including forced marriage.
The young women are searching for safety, education and jobs in the big city, but sometimes they fall prey to people who want to take advantage of them, thus potentially exposing them to abuse and illness, including HIV and AIDS.
