Africa sustains growth despite global uncertainty

Despite the weaker global economic environment, sub-Saharan Africa is expected to continue growing strongly in 2012, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

In its latest Regional Economic Outlook for Africa, the IMF says the region's robust growth is a result of its relative isolation from negative factors pulling down many other countries.

IMF's Lika Gueye spoke to the Fund's Head of the African Department Antoinette Sayeh, who first gave an overview of the economic prospects for the region.
