Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink

6th World Water Forum

While more than half of the world is made of water, inequities exist that limit access for millions of people around the world.

The 6th World Water Forum taking place in Marseille, France from March 12-17 is attempting to come up with solutions to combat that. The goal is to tackle the challenges the world is facing and to bring water high on all political agendas.

The good news is that ahead of the conference the UN announced that the international target to halve the number of people without access to safe drinking water has already been met ahead of the 2015 deadline. But Ben Braga, the Chairman of the International Committee for the 6th World Water Forum and vice-president of the World Water Council says more needs to be done.

Julie Walker spoke with Mr. Braga during a break in the conference.
