South Sudan needs financial and humanitarian support
Listen /The UN is concerned over the growing humanitarian condition in South Sudan.
More than half the country requires food assistance, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced and many more plan on returning home putting a strain on an already delicate situation.
On 9 July 2011 South Sudan became the newest country in the world after years of civil war with Sudan. The UN says recent boarder clashes are threatening to reignite tensions and make the humanitarian situation even worse.
Julie Walker spoke with UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for South Sudan Lise Grande about the situation.
