Seven humanitarian workers released in Yemen

The release of seven humanitarian workers abducted in Yemen on Tuesday has been welcomed by the United Nations humanitarian agency (OCHA).

The head of OCHA, Valerie Amos says she is relieved that the workers, who are now in Sana'a the capital of Yemen and are in contact with their families, have been released unharmed.

The kidnapping of the workers, Ms. Amos adds, is a reminder of the dangers faced everyday by humanitarian workers helping people in crisis situations around the world.

Yemen has been engulfed in protests which are reportedly continuing even after President Ali Abdullah Saleh relinquished power.
