Security Council votes to increase AU troops in Somalia

The number of African Union troops serving in Somalia will be increased from the current level of 12,000 to over 17,000.
This follows a unanimous vote by the UN Security Council on Wednesday to raise the troop strength, just one day ahead of the London Conference on Somalia.
