Chinese culture celebrated at the UN
Listen /Music, dance, shadow puppetry, and other aspects of Chinese culture were showcased during a special concert held recently at the United Nations in New York.
The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) works to safeguard these and other expressions of what is known as "intangible cultural heritage," and China's Ministry of Education has been encouraging their preservation by educating students across the country of the value of these practices.
More than 400 Chinese students performed at the concert which was held in the General Assembly Hall.
