Somalia needs more support from the international community as it continues to battle the Al-Shabaab insurgents and to create stability, according to the Kenyan Foreign Minister.

The forces of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia have been reinforced by Kenyan forces to combat insurgents who have been driven out of the capital Mogadishu.

Minister Moses Wetangula of Kenya which holds the chairmanship of the African Union Peace and Security Council attended a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss Somalia on Wednesday.

He told Derrick Mbatha that the government of Somalia, whose mandate ends in August this year, needs help to move the country forward.
