African countries to benefit from humanitarian funding boost

Seven African countries are set to take the lion's share of $104 million, which has been set aside by the United Nations for humanitarian crises that have been identified as underfunded.

In total 13 countries around the world will benefit from the UN's Central Emergency Response Fund or CERF.

The money, which is allocated twice a year, goes to UN agencies in individual countries where humanitarian crises persist.

Daniel Dickinson asked Steve O'Malley, the CERF chief, which countries in Africa are set to benefit.
