Dadaab Refugee camp in north-eastern Kenya

The Kenyan police have launched an investigation into the killing of a refugee leader at the Dadaab camp for Somali refugees in the north-east of the country.

The man, who was shot several times, was the chairperson of a Community Peace and Security team, which is instrumental in maintaining security in the camp.

Dadaab is the world largest refugee camp and is home to more than 460,000 people.

The killing is the latest in a series of incidents at the camp.

Daniel Dickinson asked Nairobi-based Vivian Tan, a spokesperson for the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, which runs the camp, for more details about the killing.
