A major United Nations climate change conference in Durban, known as COP 17, is due to wrap up on 9 December.

Delegates from around the world have been negotiating in the South African eastern coastal city for two weeks to come up with an agreement on measures to tackle climate change.

One major issue they have discussed is what to do after the Kyoto Protocol, an international agreement for developed countries to cut greenhouse gas emission expires next year.

South African reporter Boniswa Mohale, who writes for the largest Zulu language newspaper, spoke to Derrick Mbatha about the conference.
