West Balkan countries sign deal to end refugee crisis

UNHCR chief António Guterres addresses the ministerial meeting in Belgrade.

Four countries in the western Balkan region have agreed to cooperate to end the enduring refugee crisis in south east Europe.

The United Nations Refugee agency, charged with the protection of refugees around the world, has welcomed the deal, signed by the Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro governments.

Displacement in the region is one of the five priority protracted refugee situations worldwide for UNHCR.
