Technical assistance to fight biological and chemical terrorism

Technical assistance provided to countries to fight biological and chemical terrorism should be better coordinated according to a new report released by the United Nations on Thursday.

The report which looks at the state response to terrorists using biological or chemical weapons identifies methods to strengthen coordination between the UN and countries as well as ways to prevent such attacks.

The report also says that more attention must be paid to the recovery phase after such an attack, especially with regard to the decontamination of urban areas.
