Disturbances ahead of Liberian run-off election

UN peacekeepers lend support to the Liberian National Police during elections on 11 October 2011

One person has been killed following an incident ahead of the Liberian presidential election run-off which is taking place on Tuesday.

The UN's mission to Liberia (UNMIL) was called to a demonstration on Monday outside the opposition CDC party, which has threatened to boycott the vote.

The CDC leader, Winston Tubman is going head to head with the incumbent President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Yazmina Bouziane is a spokesperson for UNMIL. Daniel Dickinson asked her about the situation in Liberia ahead of the polls.
