Yemen facing severe food crisis

rising food prices

Yemen is in the middle of a severe food crisis as it grapples with political instability and rising prices of food.

Millions of people in Yemen, including children, are starving, according to the World Food Programme (WFP) on Wednesday.

The agency will soon be launching programmes to feed over three and a half million Yemeni.

However, with just 65 per cent of their operations funded in the country, WFP is urging donors to contribute.

WFP's Abeer Etefa spoke to Aditya Mehta on the food situation in Yemen.
